ACA Camp Hill Days

Please join the ACA Board of Directors, volunteer leaders, and staff as we gather in Washington, DC, to educate our elected officials on the important impact that camps have on communities across the country. ACA will host an educational session Wednesday afternoon to share details about our legislative priorities and discuss strategies for effective relationship building with our elected officials. On Thursday and Friday, we will divide into teams and have individual meetings on Capitol Hill. 

Building our successes over the past years, we look forward to having a strong presence in Washington this year as we work to build a strong understanding of the import impact we have on participants in every community.

Schedule:

Wednesday, May 8

• 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. - Optional Lunch and Networking Time
• 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. - Educational Session
  • Review ACA's national advocacy priorities
  • Learn strategies for effective relationship building and advocacy
  • Finalize plans for Hill visits
• 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. - Campfire on the Hill
  • Networking opportunity with Hill staff and representatives
  • Short educational program about the impact of camp

Thursday, May 9

• All Day - Hill Visits with Elected Officials
  • Visits will be scheduled prior to our time in DC
  • Teams will work together to build relationships and educate elected officials

Friday, May 10

• Morning - Additional Hill Visits as needed
