Welcome
to 20/20 News, our e-newsletter about the American Camp Association’s
vision for the future. In this issue, the importance of national
collaborations is emphasized as we continue to strive to reach the 20/20 Vision.
ACA’s 20/20 Vision: 20 million campers and 20,000 participants
engaged in ACA by the year 2020.
This e-newsletter is intended to keep you informed about your
association’s plans and actions toward reaching this vision
and to update you on how we’re doing.
Expanding Our Sphere of Influence
In order for ACA to achieve our 20/20 Vision, we must increase our
sphere of influence through collaborations, partnerships, and alliances
with entities that share our ultimate goal of improving the lives
of children, youth, and families. Recently, our CEO Peg Smith was
challenged by a donor and friend to expand the influence of ACA. Peg,
in turn, challenged the national staff to assertively pursue partnerships,
collaborations, and relationships with other entities of influence.

Vision; this list is only the beginning of the fine work done by Peg, the national
staff, and volunteers. We must persist in aligning ourselves with like-minded
organizations to achieve the 20/20 Vision.
Kudos to our national staff for their efforts in establishing over
30 partnerships and collaborations (not including our 300+ Business
Affiliates). This list is not nearly complete and continues to grow.
