Awesome Campfire Programs

Are you ready to have campers sit around the bright campfire where camp loyalty and friendships are born and nourished? Purchase ACA’s e-course, Awesome Campfire Programs, designed especially for front-line camp staff to bring attention to their role in providing campers with a memorable campfire experience. We all know that campfires might celebrate a great day at camp — or open or close a camp session. But most of all, we have campfires because they are part of a tradition, and they are FUN! Campfires help to promote community within camp or even in small groups. By the end of this course, camp staff will understand the what, why, and how of campfire progression and planning. A variety of songs and skits will be discussed as well as helpful tips and resources. After all, “it only takes a spark to get a fire going . . .” (Kurt Kaiser).

Please note the following for subscription access:

  • You will be required to supply enrollment information for each learner
  • The cost of the course allows up to 50 members of your staff to take the course until December 31 of the current year, unless you purchase additional learners. After that time, you/your camp will need to purchase the course again for the following year.
  • Your staff may complete the program at their convenience. 

Presenter Bios:

Erin Policinski has over fifteen years experience working with both day and resident camps in more positions than she can count. She is the program director for Girls Incorporated of Monroe County and oversees the summer day camp and after school programs. Erin currently serves on the board of directors for ACA, Indiana and as a standards visitor.

Originally from Pennsylvania, Elizabeth Snell started out attending camp as a child. Over the years she became a CIT, Counselor, Adventure Director and Camp Director. Elizabeth completed her Masters Degree in Outdoor Recreation from Indiana University and has spend the past 18 years working with several not for profit organizations providing programming. Elizabeth is currently a member of the ACA Indiana Board of Directors, serving as the Standards Chair. She is also a Visitor, and Standards Instructor. Elizabeth has presented as several state, and national conferences.
