When it comes to avoiding risk behaviors at summer camp, it's a two way street. By signing on, counselors and staff have dual responsibilities to the organizations they serve: discouraging prohibited behaviors amongst the campers (such as underage drinking and other drug use) and setting a good example for the young people in their charge to follow.  Through this webinar, participants will:

  1. Understand the prevalence of youth risk behaviors, such as underage drinking, other drug use and impaired/distracted driving;
  2. Explore the critical mentoring relationships counselors form with their campers and why it is imperative for them to model safe, appropriate behavior; and
  3. Learn how those relationships result in positive youth outcomes, including character development, leadership and social entrepreneurship.
