General Information
While attendance at a face-to-face course
is optimal for a variety of reasons, it
is not always possible. ACA is now
offering a Web-based electronic version
of the Standards Course.
The purpose of the ACA Standards Course
is to prepare camp directors and administrators
for their accreditation visits and to serve
as an introduction to the standards program
for persons interested in becoming Visitors. The
person completing the ACA Standards Course
is expected to assist the camp in preparation
for the accreditation visit and participate
in the on-site visit.
Standards Course attendance is required
of a camp director/administrator of any
camp seeking accreditation when:
- This is the first time the camp is
to be visited;
- S/he is a new director of an already
accredited camp; and
- There have been major changes in the
accreditation program.
You Choose
This electronic version of the ACA Standards
Course can be taken asynchronously allowing
for increased access to the curriculum
by multiple users. The entire course
is a series of twelve modules ranging
from six to thirty minutes in length.

Must Have
Participants will need Internet access
and will be given access to the course
through their local ACA office. Additionally,
participants need an Accreditation
Process Guide to reference during
the course and to facilitate their readiness
for the accreditation process. Member
camps will receive one complimentary
book from their local office. Camps not
yet affiliated with ACA or camps needing
additional copies can purchase
them from the ACA Bookstore.
Course Evaluation
Participants must complete
the course evaluation at the survey monkey
link provided in the closing module. This
is how we will track your participation
in the course.
