Group riding lessons can be very challenging as riders are at many different skill levels. This webinar will address the learning process, types of learners, teaching styles, lesson plans for different skill levels in the arena or on the trail at the same time, age characteristics of riders, methods of presentation, and common equitation problems and solutions.

Learner Ourcomes:
Through this webinar participants will learn about:

  1. Different learning styles and processes including teaching one skill in different ways such as physical skill, cognitive, conceptual, affective and problem solver.
  2. Age characteristics are of riders from 4 years old to adults and exercises for each of them.
  3. Specific lesson plans which include common equitation problems and their solutions.

Presenter Bio:
Certified Horsemanship AssociationChristy Landwehr has been active in the horse industry for over 30 years. Hunter/jumper, dressage, native costume, side saddle, western pleasure, hunter pleasure, barrel racing, endurance riding and saddle seat equitation are just some of the disciplines Christy has competed in at the local, regional and national levels. Christy is a Master Level Riding Instructor and Equine Facility Manager through the Certified Horsemanship Association (CHA) and has been teaching children and adults how to ride for over 25 years. She is a Past President of the American Youth Horse Council (AYHC) and an AQHA Professional Horseman.  She also founded, competed on and coached the University of Colorado at Boulder Intercollegiate Horse Show Association equestrian team.  With an undergraduate degree in public relations and speech communication from California State University Fullerton and a graduate degree in mass communication and journalism from University of Colorado at Boulder, Christy has vast experience in marketing and business. Currently, she is the CEO for the Certified Horsemanship Association, a non-profit 501(c)3 association whose purpose is to promote excellence in safety throughout the horse industry.
