Evergreen Camp Tours

We hope you can join us for a fantastic day of camp tours and the opportunity to connect with camp professionals in Washington State! We will visit Camp Don Bosco and Camp River Ranch, Girl Scouts (both in Carnation, WA) and then, after lunch, head to Camp Huston in Gold Bar, WA. Each tour highlights different programs and facility areas unique to each camp!

This is an open invitation to all ACA members and non-members; we encourage you to invite your emerging professional staff, program staff, and facility folks. This is a free event, but please RSVP by April 7.

Participants should bring a nut-free brown bag lunch.

SCHEDULE

930: Meet at Camp Don Bosco (1401 327th Ave NE, Carnation, WA 98014)

• Participants can drive themselves between all camps, or informal carpools will be organized, and cars can be left at Don Bosco for the day

10 - 11:30 Tour Camp Don Bosco

• Tour Highlights: Equestrian program, cabins, environmental programs, multiple swimming pools, campfire circle, maintenance areas, discussions on planning for off-season programming

11:30 - 11:45 Drive to Camp River Ranch, Girl Scouts (33300 NE 32nd St, Carnation, WA 98014)

11:45 - 1:45 Tour Camp River Ranch, Girl Scouts (includes a lunch break, don’t forget a brown bag lunch!)

• Tour Highlights: Stunning amphitheater lake views, dining hall, living spaces, art barn, discussions around revitalizing camp programs and making camp accessible for first-time campers

1:45 - 2:45 Drive to Camp Huston

2:45 - 4:15 Tour Camp Huston (14725 Ley Rd, Gold Bar, WA 98251)

• Tour highlights: explore different lodging models, low ropes course, explore the beautiful Wallace River, discussion on planning for rental groups, and accreditation visit years

4:15 - 5:15: Drive back to Don Bosco (optional if returning to cars or social, or participants free to leave from Camp Huston)

5:30: Optional Social at Pour House Pete’s (4640 Tolt Ave, Carnation, WA 98014)
