The ACA's Standards course serves as an introduction to ACA's Standards Program and helps participants prepare for accreditation visits and for persons interested in becoming a Standards Visitor. The course describes the purpose and value of standards and accreditation, and gives an explanation of how the process works and what resources and materials are available. The course offers specific discussion about the requirements of the standards, including: application of the core and specialized activity standards, mandatory standards, and written documentation requirements. Standards Course attendance is required of a camp director/administrator of any camp seeking accreditation when: This is the first time the camp is to be visited; S/he is a new director of an already accredited camp; and there have been major changes in the accreditation program. The Museum of Flight has a café on site where lunch may be purchased or plan to bring your own.

The Standards Update Training is for camp directors and/or other camp representatives who are familiar with the accreditation process. The person completing the course is expected to assist the camp in preparation for the accreditation visit and participate in the on-site visit. Due to revisions to the standards ALL CAMPS must attend a standards course or standards update before their accreditation visit in 2015.

Level 2 Instructors are certified to teach Level 1 instructor courses. This course will cover basic and intermediate shooting techniques, safety considerations, range set-up, equipment set-up and repair, fitting equipment to archers, archery program management, teaching techniques, and how to teach a Level 1 course. Requirements: USA Archery Level 1 instructor certification recommended (but not required), minimum age 18 years old, previous experience teaching archery strongly preferred. To complete the certification, instructors will need to pass a USA Archery background screening, complete the free online SafeSport training, and maintain a current USA Archery or NFAA membership. Included: 16 hours of course instruction and all training materials, overnight lodging Friday and Saturday, and all meals (breakfast Saturday through lunch Sunday plus snacks). FEE: $175/member; $200/non-member. DEADLINE TO REGISTER: March 20, 2015.
