This course will take place during the Annual Celebration on December 8th. TIMES TBA The Standards Update Training is for camp directors and/or other camp representatives who are familiar with the accreditation process. The person completing the course is expected to assist the camp in preparation for the accreditation visit and participate in the on-site visit. Due to revisions to the standards ALL CAMPS must attend a standards course or standards update before their accreditation visit in 2015. Please bring a sack lunch.

ACA, Evergreen's Annual Celebration is a chance to connect with your local camp friends and peers! This year's event features lunch and a keynote session with Raquel Karls - My Style Your Style (learn more at www.ACACamps.org/Evergreen), our annual silent and live auctions, and awards. Register as an individual or as a group of up to 5 (coming from the same camp). Cost is $35/Individual Member and $150/Group coming from a camp with membership. The ACA's Standards course serves as an introduction to ACA's Standards Program and helps participants prepare for accreditation visits and for persons interested in becoming a Standards Visitor. The course describes the purpose and value of standards and accreditation, and gives an explanation of how the process works and what resources and materials are available. The course offers specific discussion about the requirements of the standards, including: application of the core and specialized activity standards, mandatory standards, and written documentation requirements. Standards Course attendance is required of a camp director/administrator of any camp seeking accreditation when: This is the first time the camp is to be visited; S/he is a new director of an already accredited camp; and there have been major changes in the accreditation program. *Please plan to bring a lunch with you.

The Associate Visitor Course is offered by ACA to prepare persons to serve as Associate Visitors in the Standards program. NOTE: Completion of a Full Standards Course is the prerequisite to this course. This course helps participants to identify the purpose and structure of ACA's accreditation programs and to understand the steps in the process at the camp, local, and national levels. Participants will become familiar with the legal implications of visitor actions as well as develop skills in gathering information, making compliance decisions, and consistently applying the standards in a variety of situations. This course will stress the awareness and acceptance of the intent of the standards to represent accepted practices of organized camping. The Associate Visitor Course includes lodging at YMCA Camp Colman the night of January 7th and meal starting with lunch on the 7th through lunch on the 8th.

The Museum of Flight has a café on site where lunch may be purchased or plan to bring your own.
