All Things Day Camp: Program Planning, Staffing, and Safety Concerns

Participants will engage in roundtable style discussions about issues faced by day camp staff. We will focus on working with millennial staff, program planning, and crisis in day camp scenarios. We will investigate many new programming planning resources such as staff Pinterest planning boards and using Inquiry Based Learning and Virtual Field Trips in addition to the typical day camp program.

Learner Outcomes/Educational Objectives for the Session:
Objective 1: Participants will engage in roundtable style discussions about issues faced by day camp staff including safety concerns, working with millennial staff, staff development, and crisis in day camp scenarios.
Objective 2: Participants will investigate new program planning and networking resources such as Pinterest, Pearl Trees, Glogster and other common web-based resources.
Objective 3: Participants will explore the theories of Inquiry Based Learning as applied to day camp and create virtual field trips that will enhance a typical day camp program.
