New Opportunity to Meet With the U.S. Department of State

February 2, 2017

The U.S. Department of State will be participating in the American Camp Association National Conference in Albuquerque, New Mexico on February 23, 2017 from 10:30 am - 11:45 am.

Details

In 2016, the U.S. Department of State initiated the category review of the J-1 Camp Counselor Visa. In 2017, the Department is continuing its analysis of the importance and impact of the Camp Counselor program.  They are interested in speaking directly with camps about their challenges with the category and receiving camp director recommendations for changes. This program allows internationals to work in the U.S. as international camp staff — specifically as camp counselors. This session, offered at the ACA National Conference, will be a great opportunity for camps that have international staff to meet with representatives from the U.S. Dept. of State, Office of Private Sector Exchanges. These representatives want to learn about how the J-1 Visa program operates in your camp environment. They also want to hear your questions, feedback, and learn about your challenges and opportunities.
