NDO is a special seven hour course (7 CECs) for seasonal or new camp directors, assistant directors, program directors, or persons that have been in other administrative positions and are considering directing a camp. The NDO course helps directors and supervisors develop the skills they need to be effective leaders for their camp program. The course covers five critical areas: camp management leadership, risk management, camper behavior, staff training, and staff supervision. This course if part of the Pre-Conference to CampWorks!

Is your Health Center staffed by someone other than a RN or MD? This 7 hour course is the bridge between first aid and emergency skills and managing a health center. This is an American Red Cross CA Child Care course, elements of the course have been added to help be more applicable to the camp community and ACA Health and Wellness Standards. This course meets CA Organized Camp regulations - California organized camps are required to have a full-time Health Supervisor that is an MD, RN, LVN, OR person certified in California Child Care Preventative Health & Safety (15 hour course; 7 hours preventative health and safety and 8 hours community CPR and Pediatric First Aid. Individuals who successfully complete this ARC (Module 1) will receive an Emergency Medical Services Authority (EMSA) sticker on their certificate. This course DOES NOT include community CPR and pediatric first aide. This course is part of the Pre-Conference of CampWorks!

Back again in 2014 is the CampWorks! Northern CA conference! We will again be at the beautiful Mt. Hermon Conference Center in Felton, CA (Santa Cruz). The 2014 CampWorks! Conference team is organizing an exciting and energizing conference where we will "honor the human connection". 2014 will feature Faith Evans and Scott Arizala. We will explore the importance of supportive relationships to youth, staff and directors. Relationships shape the human condition and create the support of life! Don't miss the exciting Friday Pre-Conference offerings: ACA, New Director Orientation & Health 101. Saturday we will also host USA Archery Level 1 Certification.

A Level 1 Instructor is most closely associated with a "grassroots" program that is short-term in scope and focused on introducing basic archery skills to beginners. Such programs would include: camps, Scouting, 4-H, and Parks and Recreation. Participants will learn: Range safety, range set-up, basic equipment setup and repair, and how to teach the basic steps of shooting. Archery participants may register for archery only or archery and the conference. Participants that successfully complete will receive a USA Archery Level 1 Certification valid for 3 years. THIS COURSE IS FROM 9am-5pm on Saturday 4/26 – participants are required to attend the full course. The course is being held during our annual conference April 25-27 - Participants may register for Archery ONLY (no conference participation) for $110 or as part of the full conference for $100.
