The purpose of the ACA Standards Course is to prepare camp directors and administrators for their accreditation visits and to serve as an introduction to the standards program for those interested in becoming accreditation visitors. The person completing the ACA Standards Course is expected to actively assist the camp in preparation for the accreditation visit and to participate fully in the on-site visit. ACA membership is NOT a prerequisite for this course. Due to revisions to the standards ALL CAMPS must attend a standards course or standards update before their accreditation visit in 2015. A lite breakfast and a lunch will be provided.

ACA, Ohio will host the annual Ohio Camping Conference, January 22, 2015, featuring keynote presenter Scott Arizala. The event includes many breakout sessions, a special lunch, exhibits, and social networking time. Cancellations accepted through January 16 if made in writing. Cancellations received on or before January 16 will receive a refund, minus a $16 processing fee. No refunds after January 17, or for no-shows.

ACA's Associate Visitor course helps participants identify the purpose and structure of ACA's accreditation program. Participants also learn the steps of the process at the camp, local, and national levels. This course stresses the awareness and that the ACA standards represent accepted practices of organized camping. Participants: • Become familiar with the legal implications of visitor actions • Learn the importance of information and making compliance decision • Learn the importance of consistently applying the standards in a variety of situations Prerequisite: • At least twenty-one years of age • A current ACA member • Must have completed the Standards course • Submit an application endorsed by their local ACA office. • Complete an online pre-course (approx. 2 hours) prior to the in person course. There is no charge to the participant for this course. Dinner, lodging, breakfast and Lunch will be provided.
