Using Logic Models to
Plan Educational Programs for Youth
Planning
educational programs is an essential part of a youth
development professional's work. This
workshop will cover the basics of logic
modeling, including planning educational
programs, articulating program outcomes, and
identifying program evaluation opportunities.
Participants
in this workshop will:
- Learn
how to plan educational programs using
logic modeling
- Learn
how to articulate program outcomes
- Practice
identifying inputs, outputs, and outcomes
- Practice
designing an educational program using
logic modeling
- Learn
how to identify program evaluation
opportunities
- Learn
how to identify indicators of success
- Learn
how to use program evaluation results
Lead
presenter: Dr.
Mary Arnold has been with the
Oregon
4-H
Program since 2000. Her primary assignment is
in the area of program planning and
evaluation. During the past 5 years she has
presented numerous workshops on program
planning and evaluation. Her trainings have
contributed to a significant change in the way
program evaluations are conducted and used in
the
Oregon
4-H
program. She was recently recognized by the
Extension Educator’s Evaluation group of the
American Evaluation Association as the winner
of the 2004 Excellence in Evaluation Training
Award.

Standards
Training Workshop for Camps to be visited
The
purpose of this course is to help prepare camp
directors/administrators for their
accreditation visit and to serve as an
introduction to the Standards program for
persons interested in becoming visitors. It is
important that someone who will be involved
with the preparation and will be on-site
during the visit attend this course.
This
course is required for new camps
seeking accreditation, and also
required of new directors in already-
accredited camps. Pre-registration is
required.

There
is NO FEE to attend this course. Room and
board will be provided. You provide your own
transportation, sleeping bag and personal
items. Attendance at the entire training is
necessary to complete the course. You may
receive materials to review ahead of time.
Pre-registration is required. Upon
registration, directions, an equipment list
and additional information will be sent.
Visitors
are the heart and soul of the ACA standards
program. Without them we would have no way to
implement the accreditation program. There are
no costs to you except your time.
Standards
Visitor Prerequisites
- At least 21 years of age
- Current ACA member
- Completion of the Standards Course
Associate
Visitors are persons who have completed the
requirements of the Associate Visitor Course.
They participate as a second (or third) person
on a visitation team conducting accreditation
visits.
Certification
as an Associate Visitor is contingent upon
1. Successful completion of the Standards
Course and the Associate Visitor Course (16-18
hours).
2 Recommendation of the course instructor,
section standards chair, and the section
board.
