Level 3 – 4 Canoe Instructor Certification Weekend
May 4 – 5, 2013.

For current L2 or L3 Canoe Instructors only, this weekend is the perfect opportunity to update your certification or upgrade your certification to include Level 3 River Canoe or Level 4 Whitewater Canoe. Basic Archery Class (NADA)

Strong Rock Camp and Retreat - Cleveland, GA- $90
This class covers the basic, simple fundamentals of how to instruct students to safely and successfully shoot an arrow into the target at short distances and proper selection of archery equipment for program needs. This is a 6-8 hour course, requiring no previous archery knowledge or experience. The Basic Certification is good for three years from the date of successful completion of the course. Course participants must be at least 16 years of age to become a Basic Certified Instructor. Price includes course materials and lunch on the day of the clinic. ACA Canoe Instructor Certification Course:
May 11 - 15, 2013. (# days dependant on level desired by candidate)
Camp Bethel, Fincastle, Virginia.
This course is a certification course for Levels 1- 4 in Whitewater Canoe Instruction. Level is a 2 day course (May 11 – 12) for those teaching/leading on lakes, While Levels 2 – 4 are for moving water (rivers). Candidates may certify for any of the 4 levels. Upon passing the course, certification is valid for 4 years. CCHI (Christian Camp Horsemanship International) Level 1 & 2 and Trail Guide

Certifies staff to teach horseback riding and guide trail rides in a camp setting. Participants can certify Level 1 or 2 in English, Western, or both, with an optional Trail Guide certification. Wilderness First Aid
May 18-19, 2013

Wilderness First Aid (Wilderness Medical Society) will be offered for $215, which includes student book, field guide, certification card, lodging, and meals. We will begin with breakfast at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 18, and conclude with dinner at 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 19. Wilderness First Aid (WFA) Standard Level Certification requires 16 hours of class time and meets the criteria for ACA accreditation standards. This class includes lecture, skills practice, scenarios, and a final written exam. Deadline for registration is April 19. Current CPR/AED certification is a prerequisite for this class. Class size limited to 12 participants.

Life Guarding + Waterfront Module (ARC)
May 19-22, 2013
Strong Rock Camp and Retreat - Cleveland, GA- $300
This course provides comprehensive skills instruction for performing equipment-based rescues, spinal injury management, post-rescue care, and First Aid and CPR training for pools and waterfront settings. The certification is good for three years upon successful completion of the course, and participants will receive ARC certifications Life Guarding + Waterfront, including CPR and First Aid. A pre-course session must first be successfully completed which includes a 550 yard continuous swim, and retrieval of a 10 lb. object from a depth of 12 feet. 2013 Camp McCall Leadership Training

TRACTS:
Camp McCall is offering a co-ed training event for camps that need to train staff. Areas of training (tracts) include: Archery, Backpacking, Basic Adventure Recreation, Challenge Course Facilitation, Climbing, Life Guarding, and Riflery.
Registration will begin at 10 a.m. Tracts will begin Monday at 1 p.m. and conclude Thursday with dinner at 5 p.m. Participants are required to choose one tract for the entire event, with the exception of Archery and Riflery. Archery and Riflery tracts will not last the entire time; therefore, they may be combined. Participants combining Archery and Riflery will receive a $50 discount.

ACA Trip Leader Course and Skills Assessment for Canoe and/or Kayak
May 25 – 27, 2013
Lexington, Virginia.
Two and ½ days from 9 am May 25 – 1 pm May 27. This is a non-certification course that provides documentation of participants’ skills and training that focuses on planning day trips, prevention, and safety and rescue. Upon successful completion of the course, participants receive 2 certificates of completion and assessment from the American Canoe Association. Level 1 Ropes Certification Course
May 26-31, 2013
YMCA Camp Thunderbird, Lake Wyle, SC
A Level 1 Certification is designed for people who are new to the industry and are seeking the training needed to facilitate a Challenge Course Program. This certification also enables the client to grow as they gain more experience. This certification will last for 1 year.
Requirements to participate and complete a Level 1 Certification:
• Must be at least 18 years or older.
• Be able to complete a 40 hour, 5 day training for a Level 1 Full certification track, 20 hours minimum for Low or High only, and a minimum of 8 hours for Site/System Specific track.
• Pass a written test with a score of at least 80%.
• Pass a skills test.

WILD GUYde Adventures- Camp Climbing Staff Training Seminars

CHA Riding Instructor Certification Clinic
