Many camps and other informal youth programs are interested in developing relationships with public and independent schools to broaden educational programs for youth. Getting started can be a challenge! This session will provide an overview of establishing and cultivating educational relationships with schools with a sharing of curriculum models and schedules.
Participants will become familiar with the “No Child Left Inside Act” and implications for camp-school partnerships, curriculum models and education terminology, and strategies for effectively building a year-round camp program with recommendations for transportation, food service, and related areas.
Tony Oyenarte is the Director of Camp Crystal Lake, a year-round outdoor education center that is owned and operated by the School Board of Alachua County.
