PRESENTER: Christy Landwehr
COST: ACA members: $20, Non-Members: $40
A horse is not a bike or a dog as many kids are used to and the safety concerns are different. This webinar will help camp management train their staff for potential risk areas in a horseback riding program including such factors as horses, clients, facility, trails, arenas, documentation, supervision, tack, staff, finances, public relations, etc. Each will be discussed and then numerous solutions for each of these risk areas will be provided.
Through this webinar participants will learn about:
- The Equine Limited Liability act status in each state and current equine related court cases and how to learn from them.
- Needed documentation and procedures – including incident reports and tack logs; and routine rider/horse safety checks, horse suitability for riders and emergency drills.
- Ways to decrease risk when planning and implementing horse programs.
