Many thanks to the 1,100+ ACA volunteers who serve as accreditation visitors. Over 840 camps went through their ACA accreditation visit this past summer, and those visits are conducted by volunteers — many of whom work at camp themselves. The time, energy, and commitment of these individuals is greatly appreciated!
If you are interested in becoming an ACA accreditation visitor (which a great way to learn more about how other camps operate), contact your local office.
We also want to take this opportunity to thank the National Standards Commission for all the work they do throughout the year. This group of dedicated individuals is charged with the oversight of the ACA accreditation program. Outgoing members are: Tom Riddleberger, ACA, New York & New Jersey; Ron Springs, ACA, Southeastern; and Nancy Garran, ACA, New England. Welcome to new members Jed Buck, ACA, New York & New Jersey; Dan Reynolds, ACA, Ohio; and John Dovic, ACA, Southeastern. Continued thanks go to those continuing on the commission: Gail Albers, ACA, Rocky Mountain; Ann McCollum, ACA, Rocky Mountain; Beth Johns-Thomas, ACA , New England; Noel Torres, ACA, Southern California / Hawaii; Dave Sherry, ACA, Great Rivers; and Kathy Trotter, NSC Chair from ACA, Heart of the South.
