The purpose of the ACA Standards Course is to prepare camp directors and administrators for their accreditation visits and to serve as an introduction to the standards program for those interested in becoming accreditation visitors. Camps being visited in 2014 must have a representative complete the course. The person completing the ACA Standards Course is expected to actively assist the camp in preparation for the accreditation visit and to participate fully in the on-site visit. ACA membership is not a prerequisite for this course. Some of the items covered in a standards course include: Introduction to the Accreditation Process Guide, requirements for a camp to be accredited, mandatory standard and written documentation requirements and determining areas of the camp operation that will need to be scored.
