Purpose:
Determine if participation in an 8-week sports fitness camp increases children's internal locus of control.

Sample:
74 boys, 35 girls, ages 6-14, participating in an 8-week sports fitness camp.

Methods/Instruments:
Pre-, Post- tests, Children's Nowicki-Strickland Internal-External Control Scale (CNS-IE), Physical fitness tests

Results:

  • Significant change from external to internal locus of control.
  • Significant improvement in physical fitness measures
