Camp Ondessonk, located in the heart of the Shawnee National Forest, is seeking several outdoor education professionals to fill our seasonal program staff positions from August 22nd, 2011 - May 20th, 2012. RESPONSIBILITIES: Engage participants of all ages in environmental education, high and low challenge course facilitation, equestrian care and programming, facility maintenance and upkeep, general office assistance and summer camp promotions. The program combines a unique opportunity to work in varied curriculum and educate children in natural resources, forensic sciences, and marine biology. We have three sites that we will hire instructors for, they include: Pickens Educational Center in Pickens, SC where we teach our CSI program (forensic science), R.M. Cooper 4-H Leadership Center in Summerton, SC where we teach our Teaching KATE program (natural resources), and some programming at Camp Hannon in Sunset, SC. We work with students from 2nd to 8th grade and instruct in day and night programming. The program runs for 3 days and 2 nights with each group. In addition, we also facilitate team initiatives and games. There will be a good amount of traveling between sites between the work dates of August - December 2011.
