ACA, Southern California/Hawaii Site Managers Seminar October 4-5, 2016

Seminar especially designed for Camp Site Managers. Focusing on camps in the Idyllwild, CA area, we will be visiting Pine Springs Camps, AstroCamp, Camp Ronald McDonald for Goodtimes, and OC Girl Scouts Camp Joe Scherman. Our focus will be discussing emergency preparedness, with a focus on having an active shooter on property and how site managers & staff need to be an integral part of the crisis planning process with this and other emergencies that may occur at camp. Bringing together management staff from all over Hawaii, Leadership Day facilitates networking, professional development and education specific to the needs of camp leaders in Hawaii. Drawing from the knowledge of nationally recognized experts in the out-of-school time field, participants will leave with new tools to improve their programs and make their work easier at camp and beyond!

Join Us in May for our 9th Annual Hawaii Camp Spring Training Days!

ACA, Southern California/Hawaii USA Archery Level 1 Training

Prefer that participants have some experience shooting with the bow and arrow. Successful participants will be able to teach basic archery to archery camps, Boy/Cub Scouts, Girls Scouts, 4-H, parks & Recreation centers and events. Participants must pass an exam at the end of the course and be able to demonstrate an ability to teach. Registration fee includes all training supplies and lunch. Cost to attend is $110/member; $160/non-member.

ACA, Southern California/Hawaii USA Archery Level 2 Instructor Training

Level 2 Instructors are certified to teach Level 1 instructor courses. This course will cover basic and intermediate shooting techniques, safety considerations, range set-up, equipment set-up and repair, fitting equipment to archers, archery program management, teaching techniques, and how to teach a Level 1 course. Requirements: USA Archery Level 1 instructor certification recommended (but not required), minimum age 18 years old, previous experience teaching archery strongly preferred.
