Virginia Camp and Retreat Leaders Gathering

For 30 years, camp and retreat leaders from Virginia and beyond have gathered annually for professional growth, shared learning, excellent food, fellowship, fun and renewal. With scheduled time to share our individual questions and experiences, together we tackle our common challenges, changes and opportunities.

You have the option of participating in a Wednesday-Only full day of workshops and meals for only $40, OR come all three days ($99-$140-$180) for expanded learning experiences, evening programs and optional tours of other camps.

Basic Standards Course - ACA, Virginias

The ACA Standards Course is specifically designed to help prepare people who are NEW to the accreditation process for their accreditation visits, and to serve as an introduction to the standards program for those interested in becoming accreditation visitors. The camp may or may not be currently accredited. A person completing the ACA Standards Course on behalf of a camp is expected to actively assist the camp in preparation for the accreditation visit, be on site a significant amount of time during the camp season, and participate fully in the on-site accreditation visit.

Associate Visitor Course - ACA, Virginia

The Associate Visitor Course provides training to individuals who wish to volunteer to conduct accreditation visits. Participants will learn the roles and responsibilities of a visitor, including legal implications of visitor actions; develop information-gathering skills; and learn to use resources available to make consistent compliance decisions. Participants will also understand the educational value of the accreditation process and become positive representatives and advocates for ACA. There is no charge for this course.
