The Preston Fund was developed in memory of Nancy J. Preston to offer financial assistance to ACA Upstate New York members seeking to attend educational events in order to promote professionalism and continuing education. Kris Hansen Woodsmoke Scholarship for ACA Upstate New York Young Professionals
For 47 years Kris Hansen served as owner/director of Camp Woodsmoke in Lake Placid. Kris was also active on the Upstate Board of Directors for nearly 2 decades. In honor of Kris's commitment to the camping industry and, in particular, her intense enthusiasm for youth development, the ACA Upstate Board of Directors established the Kris Hansen Woodsmoke Award to be presented to a young professional in the Upstate NY Section, under the age of 30 with less than 10 years experience in the camping field. The $500 award must be used for professional development within 24 months of receiving the award. Please refer to the Guidelines and Appliction (PDF) for more information.
