Ellie Wilson, Executive Director of the Autism Society of Minnesota. Ellie has been working to support children, teens, and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders for nearly 20 years. After developing passion for disability support through work in accessible camps, Ellie pursued study in public health administration and policy, and completed two fellowships - on with Minnesota LEND (Leadership and Education in Neuro-Developmental Disabilities) and one with the National Institute of Educational Leadership. Ellie has worked to promote autism inclusion, support, and celebration in settings relevant to recreation, K-12, transition and post-secondary education, clinical and therapeutic support, and community living. Her specialty is fostering energized, healthy community partnerships to promote the evolution of our inclusive societal landscape for individuals on he spectrum or with other disabilities.

The ACA New Director Orientation (NDO) is a course for seasonal or newer camp directors, assistant directors, program directors, and others moving into camp leadership positions. The NDO is an interactive course that includes activities, lectures, and discussions in a group problem-solving environment designed to address real-life situations at camp. This course covers five critical areas to help directors and supervisors develop the skills they need to be effective leaders. The core areas to be covered include:

Leadership and supervision
Camper and staff development and behavior
Staff training
Risk management
Evaluation and assessment

Koronis Ministries, a United Methodist Camp and Retreat Center located on lovely 3000-acre Lake Koronis in Central Minnesota, is pleased to host the 2024 ACA, Northland Fall Workshop. The event will be primarily held in the ministry's new Tabernacle Meeting and Dining Center, a state-of-the-art venue overlooking the lake.
