During the holiday season, it is important for families, friends, and communities to come together to help others when and how they can. That is what Giving Tuesday — the Tuesday following Thanksgiving — is all about: Giving back to and strengthening your community.
At the American Camp Association (ACA), we strive to enrich the lives of children across the country. We believe the camp experience helps children to grow and develop self-esteem, courage, responsibility, and more.
In the spirit of giving, here are three ways you can help ACA continue to enhance the lives of both children and the adults who work with them through your Giving Tuesday donation.
1. Donate to the Annual Giving Fund.
Your contributions to the Annual Giving Fund will help support research, programming, and other functions to help keep ACA strong. By donating, you help secure the future of the camp experience for millions of children.
2. Volunteer your time.
If you cannot make a monetary contribution, consider donating some of your time to ACA. Our volunteers play a crucial role in helping to make our association successful. Whether it is volunteering for a committee during the National Conference or spending a few hours helping out at a local event, your time can make a difference.

3. Use your voice.
Your voice is a powerful tool. Use it. Spread the word.
You are the voice of ACA on the ground and in your community. You have the opportunity to share the story about the positive impact camp has on children, youth and adults. Camp enhances social skills. It helps children get outside and unplug from today’s technology-driven world. Camp helps children develop a respect for nature and keeps them active, and they have fun while doing it.
If you have seen or experienced the benefits of camp firsthand, share your story. Spread the word about the positive impact camp has had on the people in your life to all your friends and followers on social media. What starts with you has the potential to reach hundreds of people, which can make a huge difference.
