Claire Wyneken

Claire Wyneken has a 40-year career in non-profit youth development. As a camp director for two decades she understands the power of camp and the lives it touches - youth, adults, and families. She has dedicated her career to expanding equitable and transformative outcomes for young people. Her vision is for every young person to find fulfillment and joy in the discovery and contribution of their gifts to the world. Claire spent 20 years in direct service programs and a decade designing and launching innovations in St. Louis and across the United States. She has served as Wyman's President and CEO since 2016. 

Claire is an alumnus of Leadership St. Louis, CORO Women in Leadership, and te NCCJ Dismantling Racism Institute. She has served as Board Chair for Eliot Chapel, The Missouri Teen Pregnancy Prevention Partnership, and Big Crank Cycling. Claire holds a BA in Humanities from Purdue University and a MS in Leadership and Organizational Development from St. Louis University. in 2019, Claire was selected as an Alumni Merit awardee from St. Louis University. She is a contributing author to Women Courageous: Women Leaders Navigating Adversity and the Leadership Labyrinth to Lead Well. She and her wife, Patrice and furbaby, Buddha, live in St. Louis City. Together they enjoy being outdoors, in the garden, and creating community. 

Opening Keynote - Connection: The Glue, the Goo, and the YOU of Camp

With herculean effort you kept Camp alive through a pandemic, school upheaval, overdue racial reckoning, and economic crises...and yet here you are...back for more. How did you do it? Claire will make the case that it is all about connection. We will explore the power, pain, and profusion of connection within Camp.
