Summer is almost here, and you’re prioritizing the most urgent and immediate items on your to-do list. Join this one-hour conversation to help you carve out time for those important but less urgent items that we’d like to have time to work on, but often find ourselves pushing them to later in the summer (if at all). We’ll be covering three topics that are especially relevant to summer camps that partner with schools and community groups throughout the summer and school years.

The hour-long conversation will have a whole-group welcome and introduction of moderators, then we will break into three groups and have 15-minute rotations in each topic, and end with a whole-group wrap-up. During each breakout session, you’ll have the space to problem-solve with summer camp colleagues, so come prepared with an obstacle you’re facing or a question you have for your peers within each topic, as well as suggestions, tips or best practices that others could try out this summer.

Our three topics are:

  1. Public Relations/Media and Press/Inviting Local Leaders to Camp – Moderated by Lauren Krattiger, Director of Communications, National Summer Learning Association
  2. Staffing Retention During the Summer Months/Current Staffing Obstacles – Moderated by Kate Baxter, Staffing Specialist and Pre Camp Director, Tom Sawyer Camps
  3. From Access to Belonging for Communities New to Camp/Navigating how your operations help school groups and scholarship campers feel included – Moderated by Christen Peterson, Grants & Inclusion Manager, American Camp Association
