NASA has announced a new, one-time, award opportunity for nonprofit informal education institutions, including camps: the NASA Research Announcement for NASA Teams Engaging Affiliated Museums and Informal Institutions, Remote Opportunity Rapid Response (TEAM II RORR).

NASA invites submissions of a program, opportunity, or product capable of reaching a diverse set of students, with specific focus on underserved and/or underrepresented students in STEM and helping to minimize the inequities faced by communities without ready access to information and communication technology. Proposals shall create or amplify an innovative remote or distance learning program, opportunity, or platform/project to reach K–12 students using relevant NASA content during the 2020–2021 school year and/or in summer 2021 and continuing beyond.

The proposal deadline is August 13. For more information about this opportunity, visit NASA’s proposal system NSPIRES.

Leslie Lowes is co-manager for NASA Teams Engaging Affiliated Museums and Informal Institutions.  She also has extensive experience developing professional development opportunities with NASA content for camps, youth groups, and afterschool programs.
