New Camping Magazine Editorial Advisory Committee Member Needed!

October 8, 2018

The American Camp Association (ACA) is on the hunt for a new Camping Magazine Editorial Advisory Committee (EAC) member. EAC members review current needs of camp professionals, help to develop the magazine’s editorial direction, and conduct a blind review (authors’ names are removed) of feature-length manuscripts prior to publication. The EAC’s recommendations are advisory only; final editorial decisions are made by the editor-in-chief with input from the committee, the national staff and, when appropriate, national leadership.

Potential EAC members should possess skills in writing and/or editing and a thorough understanding of the camp profession either as a practitioner or in a related field such as research. The committee represents a cross-section of the ACA membership, and ACA strives for a balance of gender, professional background, and geographic location.

The term for EAC members runs for three years (with an option for a second term of the same duration) and begins January 1, 2019.

If you would like to participate in shaping the future of Camping Magazine, please email a letter of interest, a current vitae, and two recent writing samples to magazine@ACAcamps.org by November 15, 2018.
