INDIANAPOLIS, IN (June 1, 2016) – After a comprehensive search, the American Camp Association® (ACA) Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Tom Rosenberg has been named CEO of the national organization, effective October 4, 2016.

Tom melds his experience in the camp profression with business expertise, inspirational vision, fundraising ability, and strategic focus—attributes that are essential to achieving success as ACA’s CEO.”

Rosenberg has a distinguished career in the camp profession and a long resume of service to ACA. He is currently the executive director of Camp Judaea in Hendersonville, North Carolina, where he will fulfill his commitments and direct their summer program before joining ACA. Prior to Camp Judaea, Rosenberg spent more than two decades with Blue Star Camps in North Carolina, most of those years as a director. A long-time volunteer for the association, Rosenberg is a former board treasurer of ACA and served on the 2016 National Conference Program Committee.

A founding board member of the North Carolina Youth Camp Association, Rosenberg was awarded the Henderson County Chamber of Commerce’s inaugural Camp Industry Leadership Award as well as the American Camp Association’s National Honor Award, and the ACA Southeastern Distinguished Service Award.

In his role as director of Camp Judaea, Rosenberg expanded camper enrollment by more than 50%, raised nearly $4 million to modernize the camp’s facilities, and established a strategic plan for the camp which emphasizes, among other things, increased enrollment, program innovation, and sustainability.

“I am honored to be assuming this new role with ACA.  In many ways, it represents a culmination of the work I have done throughout my career. I look forward to working with the dedicated staff and volunteers who make our association so great,” said Rosenberg.

Rosenberg graduated with distinction from the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California with an MBA and from the AB Freeman School of Business at Tulane University with a BS in Management. He is also a graduate of ACA’s Camp Director Institute. He is married to Pam Sugarman and is the father of one son. Until Rosenberg assumes his responsibilities in October, current CEO Tom Holland and Board Chair Tisha Bolger will serve as spokespersons for ACA.
