Join educators from the Lunar and Planetary Institute for a two-day professional development training that will provide you with hands-on activities and other resources to help you bring space science and exploration into your programs. The training will be followed by a day of activities at NASA's Kennedy Space Center, culminating in a viewing of the OSIRIS-REx launch!

During the two-day training, you will:

  • Discover solar system science and exploration through hands-on activties
  • Hear about solar system science and exploration from OSIRIS-REx scientists and engineers
  • Learn about the OSIRIS-REx mission to asteroid Bennu - NASA's first asterroid sample return mission
  • Collaborate with camp and park professionals from across the U.S.

Activities at NASA Kennedy Space Center will include:

  • A tour of NASA's Kennedy Space Center
  • A mission briefing from OSIRIS-REx mission personnel
  • A viewing of the launch of the OSIRIS-REx spacecraft*

The experience is free and open for camp professionals! Registration is limited to 40 participants. A stipend of up to $1,200 is available for 30 (non-federal) participants. Space is limited! 

Apply by 5:00 PM Central, Friday, July 22, 2016. Selected applicants will be notified no later than July 29, 2016. Participants are responsible for making their travel, lodging, and meal arrangements.
