We are looking for a contract, full-time, remote Director of Innovation. Someone to work collaboratively on the research and education team and provide direct leadership to a team of 2 staff.

What would you do if hired?

  • Identify needs/gaps/opportunities for innovation and innovative approaches to developing solutions to problems and needs identified in the field of camp, with a focus on grant funded initiatives
  • Design collaborative projects to support innovative approaches to developing promising evidence-informed practices to meet the educational needs of the field, including the development of character at camp
  • Oversee innovation strategies, including grantee cohort collaboration, training and education, grantee reporting, and development of educational systems, including related curriculum and resources
  • Establish the purpose, outcomes, metrics, and process for grantee cohorts and monitoring effectiveness and impact of the cohorts through a continuous improvement framework
  • Develop and disseminate reports and educational resources to provide evidence-base programs for individual initiatives, including character at camp programs and services for ACA
  • Coordinate transition of tested and scaled products, programs, and services from the innovation lab to educational strategy and ACA’s programs team
  • Ensure ACA grant process serves multiple and diverse audiences and is appropriate, accessible, inclusive, culturally responsive, and user-friendly
  • Collaborate with the Director of Research and Evaluation to identify research opportunities within ACA’s innovation initiatives
  • Support Chief Development Officer and the Senior Director of Innovation and Learning with the development of new grant proposals
  • Serve as the Staff Liaison to the grant selection committee for the character at camp grant.
  • Oversee and build the process for grant applications and reporting

What are we looking for in a candidate?

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field; Master’s degree preferred
  • 5 years of related experience
  • Experience in curriculum design, implementation, evaluation, and educational systems development
  • Experience with multiple educational delivery methods (online, in-person, blended, etc.).
  • Ability to translate/apply research and build curricula that resonates with youth development professionals and staff.
  • Ability to speak/present publicly.
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of various teams and committees
  • Proficient on Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels.
  • Experience with leading a grant selection process or equivalent.
