We are looking for a full-time Senior Accountant to work onsite at our office in Martinsville, IN. Someone to manage accounts receivable, accounts payable, and month end close for ACA and our Foundation. This position will provide direct leadership to a team of 4 staff.

What would you do if hired?

  • Oversee the invoicing and processing of all Accounts Receivable. Ensuring deposits are made accurately and within established deadlines.
  • Making daily bank deposits and cash reconciliations.
  • Day-to-day administration of accounts payable and GL Journal Entries.
  • Accounts Payable: Processes accounts payable, prints payable checks, upload ACH batch, and maintains the file system for documentation. Ensuring invoices are paid accurately and within established deadlines.
  • General Ledger and Bank Accounts: Reconciles sub-ledger to general account balances, reconciles and posts batches to the accounting software, reconciles bank statements
  • Accounting Month End Procedures: Creates journal entries, accounts, and maintains the investment reconciliations
  • Monitoring the American Camping Foundation, accounting, deposits, etc.
  • Provides office and clerical support by implementing administrative systems and procedures.
  • Ensures accuracy of all documentation including proper signatories, filing, and document retention.
  • Collects and/or generates knowledge and provides avenues for distributing that knowledge to others.
  • Member of the ACA Phone group, answering general calls coming into the organization.

What are we looking for in a candidate?

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • At least five years’ experience in accounting, not-for-profit experience preferred, with at least two years being in a supervisory role.
  • Experience with Dynamics GP preferred.
  • Confidential Functions: Performs complex and confidential administrative functions.
  • Creativity: Applies creativity and originality in work. Sees possibilities that others have not yet seen or combines ideas and approaches suggested by others in a unique manner that results in breakthroughs and improvements.
  • Data Integrity: Uses data-related best practices and formulates processes and checks-and-balances to ensure the integrity and protection of the association's data.
  • General Ledger and Bank Accounts knowledge.
