  1. February 1 - Annual Accreditation Report Review Open to Visitors
  2. February/March - Visitor Assignments Announced (will be sent via email only)
  3. May 1 - Written Documentation Review Completed by Visitor 
  4. June-August - On-Site Visit (most visits take place during these summer months)

Volunteers are the heart and soul of the ACA-Accreditation program. Without Standards Visitors, the American Camp Association would not be able to implement the Accreditation program. Spread the word and share this flyer — this is your chance at the best professional development ever!

Prerequisites: Age 21 or older; current individual ACA membership; submission of Associate Visitor Application approved by the ACA local office; completion of current Accreditation Process Workshop; completion of online course (approx. 2 hours) prior to the in-person course.

The ACA Associate Visitor Course (11 CECs) provides training to those who wish to volunteer as accreditation visitors. Participants will learn the roles and responsibilities of a visitor, including legal implications of visitor actions; develop information-gathering skills; and use resources available to make consistent compliance decisions. Participants will also understand the educational value of accreditation and become positive representatives and advocates for ACA. There is no charge for this course. Each participant will receive a copy of the Accreditation Process Guide, v.2019, that must be brought to the course. Please check the events calendar for course dates on more  information to become a visitor.
