Join Camp Directors, Program Directors, Head Lifeguards, and Lakefront Managers for this very special event. The ACA, Southeastern Aquatics Program event, "Make It Safe; Make It Great," will help you make the most of your swimming and boating program. Get a behind-the-scenes look at how other camps serve youth with state of the art equipment and a first rate program, get your questions answered by the experts and share ideas about what works in your own program.

Hear from Captain Bill about the newest advances in aquatic programing for both equipment and site design. Safety specialists from The Redwoods Group will teach you how to mitigate risk in high risk areas and give you the skills for crisis response versus crisis reaction.

Make your swim and boating programs the safest and most exciting possible. Lunch is included in registration.

Katie Johnson has spent 20+ years as youth development professional working with both resident & day camp programs, including 8 years with the American Camp Association. Most recently, Katie joined The Redwoods Group as a consultant where she is sharing her professional experiences to help camps and youth serving organizations provide safe environments and programs for children and families.

Andy Miller, S.C. Dept. of Health & Environmental Control

Andy is a Watershed Manager with SC DHEC’s Bureau of Water, Division of Water Quality currently focused on water quality issues in the Santee and Peedee river basins. He also monitors the swimming advisory information phone line.  Andy has been with the Agency 23 years working primarily on nonpoint source pollution related topics.  He has earned a BS in Biological Sciences from the College of Charleston as well as an MPH from the University of South Carolina School of Public Health.
