Town Hall Meeting, Hosted by ACA and Y-USA (May 20, 2020)

Watch expert panelists working on behalf of the camp community from Environmental Health and Engineering (EH&E), facilitated by David Shore. During the virtual Town Hall Meeting, participants will learn about the guidebook camps can utilize for summer 2020. In addition to day camp, overnight camp considerations will be discussed. David and expert panelists will provide insights on how to rapidly foster communication with local and state departments of health on topics such as camps and staff participating from other qualified local and regional areas.

Presenter Bios

David Shore — Senior Scientist, Market Executive — Healthcare

David has a strong background in the healthcare environment and in-depth understanding of its dynamic operations and constantly evolving needs to keep pace with advances in medicine and technology to ensure the highest level of patient care. David and EH&E’s healthcare practice team have worked closely with many hospitals and healthcare systems to help them structure their facility management and compliance programs for optimal performance to minimize liability, maximize resources, and improve patient outcomes.

His extensive experience has given him keen insight into the healthcare industry. As former director of safety and security for a three-hospital system, when it comes to tackling engineering and environmental health challenges in the healthcare environment, David knows what strategies are proven successful. This insight is a great benefit to his clients and David helps them apply these lessons to their own institutions for faster problem resolution and more successful outcomes. Complementing his professional pursuits, David is a child safety advocate supporting federal agencies such as the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and the US Housing and Urban Development (HUD). David is a frequent speaker and lecturer on workplace and home safety and sustainability at professional organizations and community organizations.

Matt Fragala, MS, CIH, CSP, Managing Principal Consultant, Education and Commercial 
Environmental Health and Engineering, Inc.

Matt is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the health and safety of people both in their workplaces and in their communities. As practice director, Matt directs a multi-disciplinary team of industrial hygienists, safety professionals, hazardous material managers, and compliance and air quality experts to help higher education and commercial institutions achieve this same goal.

Matt has managed numerous large scale and complex exposure and forensic investigations involving contaminants such as mold, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), asbestos, polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), and toxic gases. He has also participated in nationwide studies of commercial buildings, schools, and residences that were sponsored by the US Environmental Protection Agency and the US Consumer Product Safety Commission. Matt has advanced training and education in leading-edge aspects of occupational / industrial hygiene including Bayesian Decision Analysis, mathematical modeling of exposures, censored data analysis, and the design and implementation of complex environmental sampling strategies.
