Please join us for the ACA, Great Rivers Fall Conference! Enjoy a time of education, renewal and fun at The Carol Joy Holling Retreat and Conference Center in Ashland, NE. The conference features a variety of educational opportunities including a keynote and breakout sessions with Michael Brandwein, networking and more! Pre-conference trainings will be offered on November 13 and the conference kicks off on November 14 with Michael Brandwein’s opening keynote.

Michael ( has presented in all 50 states and on six of the seven continents. His brand-new 2018 book is called Growing Great Qualities in Kids: The L.A.S.E.R.B.E.A.M. Technique for Bringing Out the Best in Young People, and it was the fastest selling book at the national ACA conference and other regional conferences. Michael is the national award-winning, number one best-selling author for staff training and supervision. His other best-selling books include Training Terrific Staff, Super Staff SuperVision, Learning Leadership: How to Develop Outstanding Teen Leadership Training Programs at Camp, and Skill of the Day: What Great Leaders of Young People Do and Say. Michael wrote and presented three Emmy award-winning television programs on communicating with children. In 2017, Michael keynoted the International Camping Congress, the global conference held in Russia for 1,250 camp professionals from over 30 countries. He is a frequent staff trainer for individual camps and organizations and a keynote speaker for national organizations including the American Camp Association (ACA) and the National Recreation and Park Association. Michael has served on the national board of directors of the ACA.

Early Bird registration is available through October 15, 2018. Regular cost registration begins October 16, 2018. Registration includes conference program, Wednesday night lodging and meals (Wednesday lunch and dinner, Thursday breakfast and lunch). If you would like a single room on Wednesday, please select that option.

If you are arriving early and need lodging on Tuesday, please select single or double overnight lodging for Tuesday, November 13. Overnight lodging on Tuesday includes breakfast Wednesday morning.

Commuter registration includes conference program, Wednesday lunch and dinner and Thursday lunch. It does not include overnight lodging.

NOTE: Lodging is assigned on a first come first served basis. Rooms in the Swanson Center have private bathrooms and will be assigned first. Rooms in Sjogren have shared bathrooms and will be assigned when the Swanson Center is full.
