Join seasoned camp professionals and suppliers for an engaging session addressing some of the most challenging business topics impacting camp related to COVID-19.  While no one has all the answers needed, this is an opportunity to address key issues at a practical level.

  • communications with camper families and
  • connecting with government agencies.

Brian Crater • Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times, bcrater@rmhcsc.org 
Brian is the Associate Executive Director for Camp Ronald McDonald for Good Times in Southern California.  In addition, he serves on the national boards of the American Camp Association and the Children’s Camp Oncology Association International where he was president.  One of Brian’s ACA board roles is serving as chair of the National Council of Leaders.  Brian also serves as a member of ACA’s Volunteer Engagement Committee. He is a graduate of California State University – Northridge.

Ann Sheets • Camp Fire First Texas, ann@campfirefw.org
Ann Sheets served as ACA national president from 2005 to 2008 and was recently the chair of ACA’s Board Development Committee. She has been actively involved with ACA as a board member, treasurer, and member of the core services and 20/20 task forces. A graduate of George W. Williams College, Ann is the president/CEO at Camp Fire USA First Texas Council in Fort Worth.  She is the co-author of the ACA book, The Business of Camp

Dave Thoensen • Tamarak Day Camp and Country School, dpthoensen1@aol.com
Dave has been the owner/director at Tamarak Day Camp and Country School in Lincolnshire, Illinois with his wife, Lucia, for the past 21 years. He is a certified camp director with ACA and has served on the board of ACA, Illinois. Dave has a BA from the University of Iowa and a Master's in Management from National-Louis University.  Dave has led the ACA National Conference Team as Chair for the last two years. He is the co-author of the ACA book, The Business of Camp.

Kevin is CEO of Redwoods, a social enterprise whose innovative work has changed how youth-serving organizations create communities that are safe for all. Redwoods is a leading insurer of YMCAs, camps, JCCs and Boys & Girls Clubs all over North America. Kevin is immediate past chair of the Triangle United Way (North Carolina), Duke’s Center for the Advancement of Social Entrepreneurship and the North Carolina Workforce Development Commission. He was the social entrepreneur in residence at UNC in 2016–17, and he is co-chair of the annual campaign for the Y of the Triangle.

Rachel Fendell Satinsky •  Littler, RSatinsky@littler.com 
Rachel dedicates her practice to employment litigation and counseling. She proactively advises clients on employment issues including hiring and terminations, leaves of absence, accommodations, harassment, internal investigations, and contingent workers. Rachel partners with clients to draft policies, procedures, and processes that are tailored to clients’ business needs and workforce. Her litigation and counseling experience includes representing a range of clients, from Fortune 50 companies to small start-ups. Rachel has a particular focus representing the camping industry. As a life-long camper, she has a unique insight and the understating necessary to represent and provide guidance to camps of all kinds.
