Youth Mental Health First Aid

The Mental Health First Aid for Youth Course is designed to teach adults who work with youth how to help an adolescent (age 12-18) who is in crisis or experiencing a mental health or addiction challenge. 


The course introduces common mental health challenges for youth, reviews typical adolescent development, and teaches a 5-step action plan for how to help young people in both crisis and non-crisis situations. 


Topics covered include anxiety, depression, substance use, disorders in which psychosis may occur, disruptive behavior disorders (including AD/HD), and eating disorders. 


Participants who complete the course receive a Mental Health First Aid Certification that is valid for three years. 


Register by May 16th at 11:59 pm. Space is limited to 25 participants.
