Our Taco Talk will start with a discussion about camper registration and summer staff recruitment resources before we move into the winter/spring season! ACA, Southeastern 2016 EPIC Winter Retreat

Join us at Camp Merrie-Woode for a weekend of professional development and fun that only EPIC can pull off. Including hikes, grilling out, camp tour, games and more! Featuring Travis Allison from CampHacker, and Summer Camp Professionals. The EPIC retreat offers in depth discussion of the camp industry’s most pressing topics in a relaxed and supportive environment.


Registration includes: 2 Breakfasts, 3 lunches and 2 dinners; modern comfortable, but not luxurious lodge, with beds and bunk beds. Lodging for 12/8/16 and 12/9/16, departing on 12/10/16.

ACA, Southwest- Day Camp Debrief in Las Vegas, NV

Calling all day camp professionals to join us for a lunch time gathering and Day Camp Debrief. We will discuss things that worked, didn't work, share great ideas and get to know other camp professionals near you. In addition to this sharing, we discuss training and development opportunities you would like to see offered locally to strengthen our work with campers. Not a member of the American Camp Association, not a problem!

Comprehensive Abuse Prevention: Ten Ways to Safeguard Campers and Staff Prevent harm and avoid litigation with a sophisticated approach to camper-camper and staff-camper mistreatment. Reading your staff the riot act or a litany of symptoms does little to cultivate healthy relationships or promote a true understanding of reporting obligations. Only a customized, wrap-around approach to abuse prevention that includes parents, campers, and staff under the same respectful umbrella will bring you peace of mind.

ACA, Great Rivers Youth Mental Health First Aid Course

Camps are seeing more and more mental health issues with campers. Get a jump on next summer by attending this course and learning how to support youth who are experiencing mental health challenges. Registration ($60) includes a full day of instruction, the Youth Mental Health First Aid Workbook, and a three year Youth Mental Health First Aid certification. Participants need to provide their own lunch.
