Please join us for the Indiana Winter Gathering! Don’t miss this top notch day that will allow you to learn, grow, network and explore topics that are applicable to everyone in the camp community. A variety of educational opportunities including breakout sessions, roundtable discussions, and tours of both Bradford Woods and the ACA administrative office will be offered.

 

Basic Standards Course - ACA, Indiana

The ACA Standards Course is specifically designed to help prepare people who are NEW to the accreditation process for their accreditation visits, and to serve as an introduction to the standards program for those interested in becoming accreditation visitors. The camp may or may not be currently accredited. A person completing the ACA Standards Course on behalf of a camp is expected to actively assist the camp in preparation for the accreditation visit, be on site a significant amount of time during the camp season, and participate fully in the on-site accreditation visit.

Hot Topics Impacting Indiana Camps

ACA Indiana has been tasked with compiling a list of the top 3-5 "Hot Topics" impacting camps and youth in the state of Indiana.  This information is being compiled by all of the ACA sections in order to give ACA National this important feedback.  Take three minutes to provide us with your list. 

Here are some suggestions for possible "Hot Topics" that may be impacting your camps.

ACA Indiana Breakfast Club

ACA Indiana will be hosting some Breakfast Clubs during the non-summer months. What is Breakfast Club? Breakfast Club is an opportunity for camp professionals to gather for breakfast, fellowship, and discussion of a certain camping related topic. Furthermore, it does not take up your entire day. You will still have time to head back to your camp and put in a good days work. Topics for the events could include staffing, marketing, new programming ideas, etc.

A person completing the ACA Standards Course on behalf of a camp is expected to actively assist the camp in preparation for the accreditation visit, be on site a significant amount of time during the camp season, and participate fully in the on-site accreditation visit.

Standards Update Course - ACA, Illinois and Mid States Camp Conference

The Standards Update Course is designed for the camp director or staff member who has been actively involved in the preparation of materials and the on-site visit at an ACA-accredited camp in the recent past. A person completing the ACA Standards Course on behalf of a camp is expected to actively assist the camp in preparation for the accreditation visit, be on site a significant amount of time during the camp season, and participate fully in the on-site accreditation visit.

Basic Standards Course - ACA, Michigan & CCCA Sectional Conference

The ACA Standards Course is specifically designed to help prepare people who are NEW to the accreditation process for their accreditation visits, and to serve as an introduction to the standards program for those interested in becoming accreditation visitors. The camp may or may not be currently accredited. A person completing the ACA Standards Course on behalf of a camp is expected to actively assist the camp in preparation for the accreditation visit, be on site a significant amount of time during the camp season, and participate fully in the on-site accreditation visit.

Associate Visitor Course - ACA, Indiana

The ACA Associate Visitor Course provides training to individuals who wish to volunteer to conduct accreditation visits. Participants will learn the roles and responsibilities of a visitor, including legal implications of visitor actions; develop information-gathering skills; and learn to use resources available to make consistent compliance decisions. Participants will also understand the educational value of the accreditation process and become positive representatives and advocates for ACA. There is no charge for this course.
