Basic Standards Course - ACA, MIchigan

The ACA Basic Standards Course prepares people who are NEW to the accreditation process for their accreditation visits and serves as an introduction to the accreditation process for people interested in becoming accreditation visitors. A person completing the course on behalf of a camp must actively assist in preparation for the accreditation visit, be on site a significant amount of time during the camp season, and participate fully in the on-site accreditation visit.

Level 1 Archery Instructor Certification

You will earn your Level 1 Archery Instructor Certification through USA Archery. This training teaches you how to set up and operate an archery range, minimize risk on the archery range, teach new archers, and maintain archery equipment. You will also practice the shot process and learn common shooting errors, along with learning fun games to play with your participants.

9:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. 
Lunch is provided.

Small Craft Safety- Canoeing Certification

You will earn your Small Craft Safety- Canoeing certification. This training is intended for participants who are already skilled at paddling and handling canoes. You will learn basic water rescues, small craft accident prevention, supervision of boating, and
emergency preparation and response. This course has physically demanding requirements such as the participant being able to pull themselves into a canoe from the water.

9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

Lunch is provided.

American Red Cross Camp Health Officer Training

Training begins June 9 at 10 AM and is completed on June 12 at 2:00 PM. The package includes three nights and ten meals and all the certifications necessary to be a Camp Health Officer in Michigan. 

This Course Includes:

Training begins May 26 at 10 AM and is completed on May 28 at 2:00 PM. The package includes three nights and seven meals and all the certifications necessary to be a Camp Health Officer in Michigan.

The ACA Standards Course is specifically designed to help prepare people who are NEW to the accreditation process for their accreditation visits, and to serve as an introduction to the standards program for those interested in becoming accreditation visitors. The camp may or may not be currently accredited. A person completing the ACA Standards Course on behalf of a camp is expected to actively assist the camp in preparation for the accreditation visit, be on site a significant amount of time during the camp season, and participate fully in the on-site accreditation visit.
