The ACA Standards Course is specifically designed to help prepare people who are NEW to the accreditation process for their accreditation visits, and to serve as an introduction to the standards program for those interested in becoming accreditation visitors. Northern California - New Director Orientation

NDO is a special course for seasonal or new camp directors, assistant directors, program directors, or persons that have been in other administrative positions and are considering directing a camp. NDO is designed to be offered at the section or regional level. The NDO course helps directors and supervisors develop the skills they need to be effective leaders for their camp program. The course covers five critical areas: camp management leadership, risk management, camper behavior, staff training, and staff supervision.

The CampWorks Conference Program Committee is accepting proposals for innovative and dynamic sessions that help to support the conference mission: create a community of camp professionals to educate, inspire and prepare them to provide a high-quality camp experience for their staff and campers.

Prior to completing the proposal, please review the intended outcomes below. All presentations should relate to one or more of the outcomes; selection of presentations will be made based on this relationship.

Associate Visitor Course - ACA, Northern CA

The ACA Associate Visitor Course provides training to individuals who wish to volunteer to conduct accreditation visits. Participants will learn the roles and responsibilities of a visitor, including legal implications of visitor actions; develop information-gathering skills; and learn to use resources available to make consistent compliance decisions. Participants will also understand the educational value of the accreditation process and become positive representatives and advocates for ACA. There is no charge for this course.
