Summer Camp Should Be Mandatory for a Child: It Changes Lives

Level I Archery Instructors course

4-H Camp Graham (Southwest Ohio) will be holding a Level I Archery Instructors course from the National Field Archery Association/USA Archery. The training will be held Saturday, June 2nd from 9am-7pm and the cost is $60.00. There must be a minimum of 8 people register to hold the training class. If you are interested, please mail the registration form with your check by May 4th to reserve a spot. I will hold onto your checks until the day of training as some/all of the cost will be underwritten by the cluster and will be determined based on the number of people registered. Red Cross Basic Water Rescue and Small Craft Safety (Canoe)

Dates: Saturday, June 2, starting at 8 am.
Duration: 8 hours.
Number of Participants: min 6, max 12.
Course Content:

Skills include safety in a variety of water related situations, maneuvering, paddle strokes, boarding and launching, capsizing and recovery, etc. Written tests and practical tests in the pool and the lake will be included.

NOTE: Plan on getting your clothing and shoes wet!

Early Bird Cost: $125.00.
After May 15: $145.00

National Archery Basic Instructor Certification

Number of Participants: min 10, max 18.
Course Content: During this course you will learn how to set up and operate a safe archery range & program, successfully teach youngsters to shoot, select and maintain equipment, create and score games.
Program Date and Time: Saturday, May 19, starting 8:30 am
Early Bird Cost: $80.00 per participant, includes spaghetti and meatball lunch, salad, and beverage
After May 7: $90.00 per participant

American Red Cross Lifeguard Training

Dates: Friday June 1, starting at 5 pm, to Sunday June 3
Duration: 30 hours. Number of Participants: min 8, max 12.
Course Content: By completing this intense training course you will receive your Red Cross Lifeguarding certification. This course includes Professional Rescuer CPR, First Aid, AED and PDT. Prerequisite: you must be able to swim 500 yards in combination of front crawl, backstroke, breaststroke, & sidestroke. WARNING: Not all participants pass this course. Be prepared!
Program Date and Time: Friday, June 1 at 5 pm to Sunday, June 3, late afternoon. If you just need to renew your CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer, you will attend Friday session only.
Early Bird Cost: $210.00 for full course, $55.00 for CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer Re-Certification.
After May 15: $230.00 per participant for full course, $65.00 for CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer Re-Certification

The American Camp Association Ohio Section is proud to be able to offer the Grants Program. This program awards grants for the purpose of improving and expanding the camp experience in Ohio. Any member (camp or individual) of the ACA Ohio Section is eligible to apply for a grant.
