Quaker Chewy donates $200,000 to send up to 500 kids to summer camp

With nods to s’mores, bunk beds, and friendship, “C.A.M.P.,” a new song by Andy Grammer, celebrates the summer camp experience.

In June, submissions for the Quaker Chewy Camp Track opened, allowing people to submit camp-themed lyrics to help inspire Andy Grammer to create the song as part of Quaker Chewy’s initiative to bring access to kid-led play and to the ultimate place at which play is encouraged — camp. The final song contains references to campfires, toasting marshmallows, and time spent outdoors.

To further their initiative to provide kids access to play, Quaker Chewy also donated $200,000 to the American Camp Association (ACA) to help send up to 500 kids to camp who otherwise would not have been able to attend. ACA is a nonprofit organization that supports health, safety and risk management in day and overnight camps in the US, helping camps to provide opportunities for skills development that are necessary for success in adulthood to 26 million campers annually.
