Supporting Camp through ACA

Through The American Camp Association, camps get the support they need to maintain best-in-class standards for health, safety and risk management. They are inspired by research and innovation while connected in a network of support that helps camp professionals to provide meaningful experiences year after year for campers of all ages.

Give Today!

Never was the need for that support and innovation more apparent than in 2020.

As the COVID pandemic spread across the country:

  • ACA quickly partnered with an environmental health consulting company to develop the Field Guide for Camps, which offered tactical details on how to implement guidance from the CDC, as well as from state and local health authorities.
  • ACA worked with national, state and county health departments and agencies, as well as other national youth-serving organizations, to advocate for appropriate guidelines for the operation of day and overnight camp programs.
  • ACA advocated on behalf of camps in Washington DC to ensure their inclusion in the federal framework for opening the economy as well as in government relief and stimulus initiatives.
  • ACA worked to secure more than 500 interviews in national media outlets explaining the importance of a camp experience and to highlight how camps were adjusting in order to assure the safety of campers and staff. The total reach of that media exposure was more than 10.2 billion.
  • ACA provided more than 60 free webinars and numerous targeted resources educated and supported all camp professionals – whether they were ACA members or not. More than 6,000 individuals new to ACA took advantage of these opportunities to learn.

But we couldn’t have done that without the help of people just like you.

Please Give Today

The economic and emotional hardships of 2020 have impacted everyone and have been devastating for many camps. More importantly, this year has impacted the education and social-emotional development of a generation of young people.

With such a significant strain on camp finances in 2020, ACA will be challenged to provide all the resources, education, support and information that camps will need through what will sure to be a challenging year to come. Your donation will help make that support available to camps in 2021.

Please join us in supporting camps and camp professionals through a gift to ACA. Your generosity will help people just like you, who believe deeply in the power of camp, to continue to adapt and survive in our rapidly changing world. Your gift is an investment in the future, in the hope that the best is yet to come.
