Teresa found her way into the camp world when she needed a summer job in college. Having never been to camp as a camper, little did she know that working at camp would start her on a lifelong camp journey. This journey includes working as a camp professional, earning a doctorate degree (PhD) from Clemson University with a research focus on providing inclusive camp experience for campers with disabilities, and volunteering for the American Camp Association.

As an ACA volunteer for over 20 years, Teresa has served many roles that include as an accreditation visitor and instructor, Southeastern’s Standards Committee member, and conference co-chair, just to name a few. Prior to becoming a staff member at ACA, Teresa was a senior lecturer and coordinator of the Department Parks, Recreation, & Tourism’s EDGE Program (Engaging in Diverse Guided Experiences) at Clemson University.
