The American Camp Association is thrilled to launch its 2025 CampCounts Survey. CampCounts ACA’s business operations and development survey, which seeks to collect key data on camps, camp programs, campers, staffing, financials, and facilities. This year, ACA partnered with Delta Consulting Group, a strategy and research firm, to conduct the CampCounts survey. All organizations offering camp programming are eligible to participate in this survey.
What Topics Are Covered on the CampCounts Survey?
The 2025 CampCouts survey is broken up into two sections:
Section 1: CampCounts Core Survey (Required for all participants)
- The core CampCounts survey includes questions about your organization, camp, campers, staff, finances, & facilities. We are gathering this information to reestablish core operations and business development metrics for the camp industry. All survey participants must complete this section of the survey.

Section 2: CampCounts Additional Questions (Voluntary for all participants)
- The CampCounts additional section includes questions about your camp participants, staff, finances, and facilities. We're gathering this additional information to help us gain deeper insights into the demographic makeup of your camp, campers, and camp staff. Completing the additional survey section is entirely voluntary. Choosing not to complete this section of the survey will not affect your participation status, ACA standing, or eligibility for the main survey raffle.

Your responses will be kept confidential and only reported out in the aggregate.
Why Should Your Camp Complete the CampCounts Survey?
Research on camps and the communities they serve is especially vital this year; your thorough and accurate responses will be used to:
- Provide a snapshot of the camp industry
- Support camp professionals’ operational decision-making
- Support ACA’s advocacy efforts at the federal, state, and local levels
- Support camp professionals’ operational decision-making
- Identify pressing needs within the camp community
- Develop educational opportunities to improve camp operations and programming
Who Should Complete the CampCounts Survey?
The CampCounts survey should be completed by a staff member who has access to key camp documentation and can answer questions about camp operations such as finances, facilities, camper enrollment, and staffing. We anticipate that multiple staff members may need to contribute key information reported on the survey. We’ve created a Survey Preparation Tool (section 1 and section 2) that can be shared amongst organizational staff as you gather key information.
