The 2025 survey was conducted using a convenience sample drawn from ACA's membership and outreach networks. The sample characteristics closely align with the expected characteristics for ACA-affiliated camps. This could mean that the results describe the organizations that responded to the survey rather than all camps operating in the US. Organizations with ACA membership or accreditation may differ systematically from non-affiliated camps in ways that affect the reported figures on programming, staffing, finances, and facilities. Readers should interpret the findings as informative about the ACA-connected camp industry rather than nationally representative estimates. We ask journalists to reach out to the ACA Public Relations Team at [email protected] before citing anything in this report verbatim. Context is extremely important in interpreting these data.
