Severe Weather Safety and Partnerships
When severe weather is forecasted or impacts your camp, are you prepared to act? Join ACA and the Virginia Department of Emergency Management to learn more about how you can enhance your camp safety efforts and become a force multiplier of community preparedness. With a goal of preventing the loss of life and property, knowing where to find and receive accurate weather forecast and real-time information is critical to support decision-making and planning efforts. The hazard focused on in the presentation will be flooding as it is not only a worldwide hazard, but also the number one hazardous weather-related killer in the United States. Special attention will be focused on where to find severe weather resources, how to become a more prepared and safe camp and the importance of having a weather radio.
